Studio 9

Studio 9
  • Start the AGS application.
  • Read through the ‘Getting started with AGS’ tutorial from adventuregamestudio.co.uk and create a room using the AGS application.
  • At the end of the session, take some screenshots of what you have done and upload them to your blog, explaining what you did and any issues.
I created a maze-type room using the GIMP - a free software program that can be downloaded from the Internet.











I saved the image as a BMP file so that it would be recognised and then uploaded it to the Adventure Game Studio (AGS).








I outlined the ‘walkable
areas’ using the Room editor to define where the character is allowed to walk within the room. I started off by using the Line tool to encompass which areas I wanted to make walkable, making sure all corners were joined up and then filled it in blue.










My room seemed to work fine once I saved and tested it:
